What is a commercial vehicle wrap for a fleet?

A commercial fleet wrap is printed or colour-matched vinyl applied to a company's vehicles so every van, truck and car carries the same branding. At Wrap Senators in Ottawa we design commercial vehicle wraps and fleet graphics, produce them in 3M, Avery Dennison and KPMF cast vinyl, and install them in batches so your fleet keeps working.

A fleet wrap is an advertising asset first and a paint job second. Every kilometre your vehicles cover on the Queensway, along Hunt Club or through a Kanata subdivision puts your name, phone number and web address in front of the people who live and work along your routes, and the vinyl protects the factory paint underneath the whole time. When a vehicle is sold or its lease ends, the wrap comes off and the original finish is still there.

Why fleets choose a hand-cut install

Pre-cut templates leave paint showing at the edges, and on a fleet that gap repeats on every vehicle. Our installers hand-cut, edge-tuck and post-heat every panel to the manufacturer's specifications, so the edges on the tenth van look like the edges on the first. Read how we put one identity on a 20-vehicle fleet without taking it off the road.

How much does a commercial fleet wrap cost in Ottawa?

At Wrap Senators a commercial fleet wrap runs $2,000 to $4,000 per vehicle for a partial wrap and $4,000 to $8,000 per vehicle for a full wrap, before volume pricing. Design work adds $500 to $1,000 to place your existing logos and graphics, or $1,500 to $3,000 for a full custom fleet design built from your brand guidelines.

Price ranges by coverage, per vehicle

Commercial fleet wrap price ranges by coverage, per vehicle, before volume pricing
Coverage Price range What it covers
Partial fleet wrap $2,000 to $4,000 per vehicle Fleet graphics, vehicle decals and lettering: logos, contact details and accent graphics on the panels that get seen
Full fleet wrap $4,000 to $8,000 per vehicle Complete colour and graphics coverage of every painted panel
Design: existing logos and graphics add $500 to $1,000 Placing your logo, lettering and contact details on each body style
Design: full custom fleet design add $1,500 to $3,000 New fleet artwork developed from your brand guidelines and adapted to each body style

These ranges are the Commercial/Fleet tier of our online quote calculator. Vehicle size, the number of panels covered, finish and design hours move a quote within or beyond them. Volume pricing starts at three vehicles and is confirmed in your written quote, which we break down by vehicle class.

Not sure whether partial or full is right for your fleet? Our custom design team mocks up both options on your actual vehicle types, so you compare them before anything is printed. For the single-vehicle view of the same question, the Ottawa car wrap cost guide explains what moves a price.

How long does a fleet wrap take, and does the whole fleet come off the road?

A full cargo van wrap typically takes two to three business days, and the whole fleet never comes off the road at once. We build a staggered installation calendar around your dispatch, so a ten-vehicle fleet cycles through our Ottawa studio in roughly three to four weeks with no more than two vehicles offline at any time.

How a fleet install works, step by step

  1. Step 1. Discovery. Send us your vehicle list, brand files and how the fleet is used. We recommend coverage per vehicle type and come back with a per-vehicle range and a batch plan.
  2. Step 2. Design and proofs. Our in-house design team builds one brand system and adapts it to each body style, with a digital proof for every vehicle type before anything is printed and a 3D visualization when you want to see the whole fleet first.
  3. Step 3. Production. Graphics are printed in full colour or cut from colour-matched 3M, Avery Dennison and KPMF cast vinyl, profiled against your Pantone or RAL references and run from the same material lot wherever possible.
  4. Step 4. Scheduling. We lock in installation slots in batches around your dispatch and slower periods, so only one or two vehicles are in the shop at a time while the rest keep earning.
  5. Step 5. Installation. Each vehicle is cleaned and prepped, then wrapped in our climate-controlled bays one panel at a time, with every edge tucked and sealed before the next panel goes on.
  6. Step 6. Inspection and handover. Every vehicle is checked to the same standard before it returns to service, with care instructions and warranty details for your fleet manager.

Fleet design checklist

  • Company name and phone number readable from two car lengths back
  • Web address on the rear doors or tailgate, where traffic sits behind you
  • One clear reason to call
  • Same logo position and colours on every body style
  • Reflective accents for fleets that run before dawn or after dark
  • Artwork signed off before anything is printed

An impression nobody can act on is a wasted one.

Which fleet vehicles do you wrap?

We wrap the business vehicles Ottawa companies actually run: cargo and delivery vans, box trucks and cube vans, trades pickups, service vehicles, company cars and SUVs, food trucks, and the trailers and tailgates that travel with them. Each body style gets its own layout, so one brand reads correctly on a tall cube van and on a low sedan.

Delivery and cargo vans

The classic rolling billboard, whether it is a Ford Transit or a Sprinter: big flat sides and high daily mileage. Full or partial wraps with contact details sized to read in traffic, and rear cargo glass tinted on request so nobody prices the tools inside.

Box trucks and cube vans

The largest canvas in the fleet. We plan artwork around rivets, seams and roll-up doors so the box stays readable from a block away, with retroreflective striping where a contract calls for it.

Pickup trucks

Contractor and trades pickups get durable partial or full wraps that stand up to job sites, with tailgate branding and door decals that identify your crew the moment it pulls up. See pickup and work truck wraps in Ottawa for the single-truck view.

Service vehicles

Vans and SUVs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical and landscaping companies, branded so a homeowner knows exactly who is in the driveway before anyone knocks.

Company cars and SUVs

Sales and executive vehicles in a restrained version of the fleet design, or a full colour change that protects the paint and holds resale value.

Food trucks and trailers

Full-colour printed wraps for food trucks, plus trailer lettering and tailgate graphics so every piece of rolling stock matches the trucks it follows.

How long does a commercial fleet wrap last?

A professionally installed commercial fleet wrap lasts 5 to 7 years in Ottawa with routine care. We use 3M, Avery Dennison and KPMF cast vinyl, installed to spec, so it holds its colour through road salt, freeze-thaw cycles and summer UV instead of fading or lifting at the edges.

Cast vinyl matters on a fleet because it conforms to curves and recesses without shrinking back, which is what keeps edges down in year four. A delivery van covering 60,000 km a year sees more highway grit, pressure washing and door flex in twelve months than a personal car sees in five, and the film is rated for that life. Keep the vehicles hand-washed or on touchless washes rather than brush tunnels and the wrap outlasts most lease terms. If a panel is damaged on a job site, it is replaced panel by panel rather than redoing the vehicle.

What happens at lease end or a rebrand?

The wrap comes off. Professional removal leaves the factory paint intact, so leased vehicles go back in their original colour and owned vehicles resell with panels that spent years under vinyl instead of under salt. A new phone number or a refreshed logo is a partial re-wrap of the affected panels, not a new fleet.

Is a fleet wrap worth it compared with billboards or radio?

For most Ottawa businesses, yes. Our fleet ROI article puts one wrapped vehicle at 30,000 to 70,000 views a day and, at the $4,000 to $8,000 full-wrap range, roughly $0.06 to $0.27 per impression. The wrap keeps advertising for 5 to 7 years on one invoice; a billboard rents for $1,500 to $5,000 a month in one spot.

Fleet wrap compared with billboard and radio advertising
Channel What you pay and how long it works Where it is seen
Fleet wrap $2,000 to $4,000 partial or $4,000 to $8,000 full, per vehicle, paid once; works for 5 to 7 years Everywhere your vehicles drive and park
Billboard $1,500 to $5,000 a month, only while you keep paying One location
Radio spot $200 to $1,000 per spot, gone in seconds One station's listeners at one moment

Run ten vehicles and the fleet generates 300,000 to 700,000 impressions a day. The full math, including how to track payback after the install, is in Commercial Fleet Wrapping: ROI and Brand Impact Analysis.

What else do fleets add to a wrap?

Fleets that log highway kilometres often add paint protection film on bumpers, hoods and mirrors, a ceramic coating so salt and grime wash off faster, and window tint on volume pricing so every unit matches. We also handle maintenance, clean removal at lease end and re-wraps when the brand or the phone number changes.

Paint protection film

Self-healing film on the front end takes the rock chips the 417 hands out, so high-impact areas stay presentable for the life of the wrap.

Paint protection film packages

Ceramic coating

A coating over the finished wrap sheds salt-laden slush and road film with a rinse, cutting wash time across the whole fleet. Vans and fleet vehicles are quoted per vehicle.

Ceramic coating packages

Window tinting

Fleets, work vans and commercial vehicles are tinted on volume pricing, with the same film and the same shade on every unit, and rear cargo glass that hides the tools inside.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer volume pricing for fleet wraps?
Yes. Volume pricing starts at three vehicles and improves as the fleet grows, and we quote it per project after we see your vehicle list, because a mix of cube vans and sedans prices differently from ten identical vans. The ranges on this page are per vehicle before volume pricing, and your written quote is broken down by vehicle class so you can see exactly where the money goes.
Should we choose a partial or a full fleet wrap?
Choose a full wrap when the vehicle colour is part of the brand or you want every panel protected from salt and stone chips. Choose a partial wrap when your vans are already white or a brand colour and only need logos, contact details and accent graphics. Many fleets mix both, with full wraps on the customer-facing vehicles and partials on the rest.
Do all the vehicles in a mixed fleet need the same design?
They need the same brand system, not an identical file. We build one layout with fixed logo placement, colours and type, then adapt it to each body style so a graphic that reads cleanly on a cube van does not land on a door seam on a sedan.
What happens if we rebrand or change our phone number later?
The affected panels come off and new graphics go on. Professionally installed cast vinyl is removable without damage, so the factory paint is intact underneath, and a phone number or web address change is usually a partial re-wrap of the doors or tailgate rather than a new fleet wrap. Damage from a job site is handled the same way, one panel at a time.
What do you need from us to quote a fleet wrap?
Your vehicle list with makes, models, years and how many of each, your logo and any brand guidelines, how the vehicles are used, and when they can come off the road. With that we recommend coverage per vehicle type and come back with per-vehicle pricing, a design estimate and a batch schedule.
Can you match our exact brand colours?
Yes. Every fleet job is colour-profiled against your Pantone or RAL references and printed on 3M, Avery Dennison or KPMF cast vinyl from the same material lot wherever possible, so the colour holds from the first van to the last. Solid brand colours can also be run in coloured cast vinyl rather than print.
Can you wrap leased fleet vehicles?
Yes. Wraps are the standard way to brand leased vehicles because they are fully removable. We install over the factory paint, and when the lease ends we remove the vinyl cleanly so the vehicle goes back in its original finish. Tell us the lease term and we will recommend coverage and material to suit it, so you are not paying for more wrap than the lease will use.
Do you handle the design, or do we need our own designer?
Either works. Our in-house design team can build the fleet artwork from your logo and brand guidelines, with digital proofs and a 3D visualization before anything is installed, or we can work from files your agency supplies and adapt them to each body style. In both cases you approve a proof for every vehicle type before printing, so nothing goes on a vehicle unseen.
Do you serve fleets in Kanata, Orléans, Gatineau and the rest of the region?
Yes. Every fleet wrap is installed at our Stevenage Drive studio in Ottawa, a short drive off the 417 for operators coming from Kanata, Stittsville, Barrhaven, Nepean, Orléans, Gloucester and Gatineau. We book drop-off and pick-up windows around your dispatch, you can bring vehicles in whatever batches suit your routes, and larger jobs include a complimentary ride back to the yard.
