Rockland is the closest of the commuter towns to us: roughly 30 km east along Highway 174, which puts our Stevenage Drive studio about 25 minutes away and makes us effectively a local shop rather than a trip. Rockland is also strongly francophone, and we work in both English and French from first consultation through final delivery. The 174 commute is a shorter run than the western towns face, which changes the protection maths: less cumulative highway abrasion, but the same brine exposure and a notably rough road surface.
Car Wraps
Colour-change wraps, 25 minutes from the shop
Being close enough for a same-week consultation changes how Rockland clients approach a wrap: we can get you in to see and handle actual film samples under shop lighting before committing, which matters more than people expect with satin and colour-shift finishes that photograph very differently from how they read in person. We install the full range (gloss, satin, matte, metallic, chrome, colour-shift) in 3M and Avery Dennison materials, hand-trimmed rather than template-cut, with every panel post-heated to spec so the adhesive holds through freeze-thaw.
Paint Protection Film
PPF for the Highway 174 surface
The 174 is a heavily travelled commuter artery with a road surface that generates a real supply of loose material, and it is salted aggressively through winter. Paint protection film on the front end (bumper, hood leading edge, fenders, mirrors) intercepts the stone strikes that would otherwise become chips at $200 to $800 each to repair properly. We use XPEL and 3M film with edges wrapped around the panel so there is no visible film line, and material warranties extend up to 10 years against yellowing, cracking, peeling, and staining.
Ceramic Coating
Hydrophobic protection through eastern Ontario winters
Rockland's winter routine is brine on the 174 and whatever gets tracked through town, and the practical consequence is a vehicle that looks permanently filmed over from December to April. Ceramic coating addresses that directly by making the surface slick enough that road film releases under a normal rinse instead of requiring scrubbing, which is what actually causes swirl marks over a winter. Packages run 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year, roughly $500 to $2,100 depending on vehicle size and existing paint condition, always after decontamination and prep.
Window Tinting
Tinting with a westbound morning commute
Rockland commuters drive west into Ottawa in the morning and east home in the evening, which is the sun-behind-you direction both ways for much of the year, so the tint conversation here leans toward heat and privacy more than glare. Ceramic film rejects substantially more infrared heat than dyed film at the same darkness, keeping the cabin manageable in a summer park-and-ride lot. We install to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act requirements as we understand them and disclose each film's visible-light figure up front; those requirements can change, so please confirm the current ones. Chrome delete, badges, and lighting upgrades
Blacking out chrome trim is a straightforward, fully reversible way to modernise a vehicle without touching paint, and it is our most common aesthetic request. We cover window surrounds, grille bars, badges, and mirror caps in gloss or satin vinyl. Because Rockland is a short drive, this is also the area where clients most often book aesthetic work as its own visit rather than bundling it: a starlight headliner or ambient lighting install is a perfectly reasonable standalone trip from 25 minutes out, which is not true from Carleton Place.

That proximity means Rockland clients can realistically split work across two visits if they prefer, rather than compressing everything into one drop-off.
