Vehicle Wraps & Protection for Cornwall
Long-haul and distribution vehicles on the 401 corridor
Cornwall is the furthest area we serve and the only one on the 401 rather than the 417, about an hour southeast of the studio. It exists on this list because of freight: the city is a genuine distribution hub, with warehousing scaled to serve both Ontario and Quebec markets and a border crossing at its doorstep. That produces vehicles unlike anything in Ottawa's own industrial districts: units running interprovincial routes daily, accumulating highway kilometres at a rate no city fleet approaches. The distance means we are honest about what justifies the trip.
Car Wraps
Wraps for vehicles that cover serious distance
A wrap on a Cornwall-based vehicle faces a harder service life than the same wrap in the city, simply because of sustained highway speed. Air pressure at the leading edge of every panel works constantly against the film's adhesion, so edge treatment stops being a finishing detail and becomes the thing that determines whether the wrap lasts three years or seven. We hand-trim and post-heat every panel to manufacturer specification, and on high-speed vehicles we tuck edges further into panel gaps than a city installation strictly requires. Materials are 3M and Avery Dennison across the full finish range; for units running 401 kilometres daily we steer toward the more robust cast films rather than the cheapest option that matches a colour.
Paint Protection Film
The strongest case for film of anywhere we serve
If film makes sense anywhere, it makes sense on a vehicle running the 401 every day. Highway stone impact scales sharply with speed, and a Cornwall distribution vehicle takes more strikes in a month than a city van does in a year: the leading edge of the hood, the full bumper face, the fenders, the mirrors, and the windshield surround all take continuous fire from traffic ahead. Full front-end coverage is the baseline here rather than an upsell, and on high-value units full-body film is a defensible commercial decision because it protects resale on an asset with a known replacement cycle. XPEL and 3M film, edges wrapped so nothing is visible on the panel face, warranted up to ten years against yellowing, cracking, and peeling.
Ceramic Coating
Coating against 401 winter chemistry
The 401 is treated aggressively through winter and carries enormous truck volume, which means a Cornwall vehicle drives through a constant aerosol of brine and road spray thrown up by traffic ahead, a heavier chemical load than city driving produces. That solution finds its way into every seam and panel gap and stays wet far longer than most owners assume. A ceramic layer gives paint a hard, non-porous surface so that film releases under a rinse instead of dwelling, which for a vehicle washed infrequently between long runs is the difference between surface contamination and etched clear coat. Packages are 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year, roughly $500 to $2,100 by vehicle size and condition, after full decontamination.
Window Tinting
Tinting for long hours behind the wheel
Long-distance driving makes tint a fatigue question more than a comfort one. Hours of direct sun through side glass on an east-west route produces real driver tiredness and, over years, measurable UV exposure on the driver's arm and shoulder. Ceramic film blocks the large majority of UV and rejects far more infrared heat than dyed or carbon film at the same visible darkness, which is the specification that matters when someone is in the seat for six hours. One point specific to Cornwall: vehicles here frequently cross into Quebec and back. We install film and do not give legal advice: provincial rules differ and can change, so we ask where the vehicle is registered, provide each film's visible light transmission figure, and ask you to confirm the current requirements yourself. The darkness decision is the customer's. We stock it in ceramic and nano ceramic only. For a six-hour day in the seat, the nano grade is the one worth the difference.
Please note: we install window film, we do not give legal advice. Tint regulations differ by province and can change, so we disclose each film’s visible light transmission figure and ask you to confirm the current requirements for the province your vehicle is registered in. The choice of tint darkness is yours. Full details in our window tint compliance policy.
Chrome Delete & Upgrades
Trim work that protects as well as darkens
On a high-mileage highway vehicle, factory brightwork takes a beating: the same grit that pits a bumper clouds and scores chrome trim, and the chrome-to-paint seam is where salt corrosion tends to begin. Vinyl over that trim both changes the look and seals the vulnerable transition, so the case here is genuinely protective rather than purely cosmetic. We cover window surrounds, grille bars, badges, mirror caps, and roof rails in gloss or satin, fully reversible with the original trim untouched underneath. Given the drive, we would always combine this with other work rather than have a Cornwall client make the trip for trim alone.
Commercial & Fleet
Interprovincial fleet branding, done bilingually
Cornwall operators typically work both Ontario and Quebec markets, which makes bilingual vehicle graphics a commercial requirement rather than a courtesy: a unit delivering in Cornwall on Monday and greater Montreal on Tuesday needs to communicate in both. We design bilingually from the start rather than translating afterwards, because a layout built for one language and then doubled becomes illegible at highway speed. Large-format units are their own discipline: corrugated and riveted panels, roll-up doors, and liftgate hardware all need seams planned at body lines rather than mid-graphic. We hold print files and material lots so replacement panels after a collision match the rest of the fleet.
Tesla, EV & Luxury
Trailers, box bodies, and cross-border units
Most of what we do for Cornwall is not passenger cars. Dry-freight trailers and box bodies are the highest-value branding surface a distribution operator owns (a wrapped trailer running the 401 is seen by a volume of traffic no storefront matches), and they demand large-format technique: surface audit first, seam placement mapped to panel lines, and hardware worked around rather than over. Border-crossing units bring an additional consideration we raise up front: any required markings, identifiers, and reflective conspicuity tape must remain unobstructed and legible, so we plan graphics around them rather than discovering the conflict at install. Electric last-mile vans are appearing here too, handled with the same care around sensor housings and thin factory paint.
Getting Here
Booking from Cornwall (Logistics Hub)
From Cornwall it is Highway 401 west to Highway 138 north, then the 417 west into Ottawa and east to Stevenage Drive, about an hour and fifteen minutes, or a straight 401-to-417 run depending on your starting point in the city. At that distance we only recommend booking work that genuinely warrants the drive, and we schedule Cornwall vehicles as multi-service single drop-offs so one trip covers everything. For fleet work we will discuss whether it makes more sense to send units in rotation over several weeks.
